Well this was unexpected! At about 12:30 this morning, an Eagle Alert went through, cancelling classes at UNT for today. There was some freezing rain all day yesterday and the outside temperatures have been hovering just below freezing. Huzzah!
As a result, I got to spend another day at home while Emily still had to go to work. As an added benefit, I got to have lunch with Rachel! Of COURSE we went to Roti, because how can anyone say no to Roti? Unfortunately this is the only shot from our time together that didn't come out soft. What a shame.
I washed towels. I played Battlefield 4.
For dinner I made a bowl of oatmeal. It was delicious and left me wanting more.
I made more.
After pulling it from the microwave, I walked my hot bowl of oatmeal across the kitchen. Apparently, transporting a bowl by pinching the top of the lip is NOT the best way to do it. I pinched an oatmeal-lubricated spot inside the bowl and watched--just as I reached the halfway point in the kitchen--as the bowl slipped from my grasp and shattered on the floor.
Oatmeal rocketed forward, plastering itself to cabinets, trash cans, and everything else in its path. It was that perfect consistency too, you know? Not watery at all. It was thick and delicious-looking. And sticky.
God. So sticky.
