I woke up much earlier than expected this morning, and with no hangover! Hey alright! Today we decided to go exploring. Cameron managed to get outta there before we’d even done much of anything, but that’s ok. His loss! David, Jon, and I checked out the Granbury square, which consists almost exclusively of kitschy, gross, Texas-themed garbage. There were literally at least 2 stores like this on each side of the square. It was nuts. OH, and it was all overtly religious. Even the sports memorabilia store made the “T” in “Sports” into a cross. Really, guys?
We had lunch at a German restaurant they have there called Ketzeler’s, which had a fairly decent German beer selection. When that was done (thanks for lunch, guys!) we checked out this antique shop. They had some things that were pretty cool, mostly things that were completely uninteresting, and way more totally racist things than I expected. They had a whole special “offensive black people things” section, at least that’s what I’m calling it. Jon ended up snagging a sweet Western Electric fan from the 50s or something. Perfect Jon thing to do, haha!
Back at the house, we drank some more and flew the drone around. This evening, after making it back home to Dallas, we all watched the latest Walking Dead–THEN I finished The Jinx. WOAH. Robert Durst was actually arrested this weekend, and the final episode of The Jinx explains why That’s gotta be one of the best things I’ve seen on TV in quite awhile. SO GOOD.
