Even though I was up past 2:00 this morning having fun down by the lake, I still found myself awake and full of energy–albeit still a little drunk–at 8:30am. No matter! I went downstairs and started making waffles as others drifted down. Eventually we had a whole team working in the kitchen, pumping out bacon, eggs, berries, fruits, you name it. We all got stuffed and it was marvelous.
After a few more hours of floating in the lake, most of us made a trip to the nearby Revolver Brewing, which does tours on Saturdays. For $10 you get a keeper glass that they’ll fill four times with whatever beers they have on tap. I don’t think any of us made it to that fourth beer, but Amanda and I powered through three of ‘em! They had tacos for sale there, too, so lunch was covered. We weren’t there super long, but it was really hot anyway, so we were happy to get back in the lake again.
Tonight got a little weird, when somebody’s “conversation starter” got us somehow locked into a discussion of adoption versus sperm donation. Luckily, David jumped in and saved us with sparklers. After a few minutes of chasing each other with fire, things wound down a bit and people started to drop off. I think we all got a little zapped by the sun today, but tomorrow we’ll be recharged for the last leg of the weekend.
