What a crazy day!! It started off innocuously enough with a meeting about YouTube practices at work. We talked about the state of our channel, the roles of those of us who interact with it, and how we’ll be managing it moving forward. Woooooo.
I thought I was in the clear, but I found out while at work today that I had to swing by Eric’s place with a hard drive to get Sput and Nate’s sessions from January. We’re finishing their record this weekend! Turns out, I also had to grab the Boomwhackers, which were beautifully wrapped in black trash bags and tape. The data transfer took longer than I’d anticipated, but Eric took the opportunity to show me the current mixes from our Metropole shoot. MAN I can’t wait for that thing to come out. It’s gonna be gorgeous!!
When I left Eric’s place I called to let Emily know I was coming. Since I was running a bit late, she decided to run out to put some gas in her car before taking me to the airport. A few minutes later–I was about 15 minutes from home at this point–she called me again.
“I just had a wreck. I have to go.”
What the what?! Basically, she had gotten gas and was coming home. She had a green left arrow and was making a U-turn when some girl wasn’t watching and turned right on red. Emily didn’t even see the chick before slamming right into the girl’s driver-side door. Most of Emily’s damage was cosmetic, but the girl’s door won’t even open. YEESH! Emily didn’t even call the cops because she was so worried about getting me to the airport on time. By the time I got home she was already there, finishing up a phone call with insurance peeps. While she did that, I loaded up her car with luggage. I feel bad leaving right after that ordeal, but she understands the circumstances. She wrapped up her call, hopped right back in the car, and took me to the airport.
Now, I’m about to take off, but I won’t land until tomorrow.
