I'm so glad I came on this trip! We were on the road for much of the day, but this was by far the fastest ride to TN I've ever experienced. I somehow managed to sleep just about the entire way here, and it was magnificent.
Once here, I got to re-meet a ton of folks I haven't seen in several years. When I was little my family and bunch of their family friends would go camping out at Piney woods. We'd also do a pig roast thing once a year. I don't think I've been to one in over five years, but all the people are pretty much the same! All still friends and everything. It's kinda crazy.
A few of the guys were playing corn hole, the ladies were all sitting around chatting, and my grandpeople were getting food ready much of the time. We aren't even eating the pig until tomorrow night, so tonight was a potluck thing. There were probably 10-15 crock pots lined up on one table, with the same number of desserts lined up on another table. There's never a food shortage when I visit up here, that's for sure.
I spent most of the evening catching up, relaxing, and playing some bocci ball. How relaxing!
I'd planned on editing 365 in the car, but I wasn't able to download things quickly enough. The hotel had crazy slow connection, and I know I'll run mifi into the ground if I try to download 16gb of photos from it. Luckily, and for the first time, my grandpeople have wifi! Insanely slow wifi, but still. It's looking like everything will finish downloading if I let it run all weekend. Perfect!
