I pulled out the remote shutter thingy today so I could attempt some hummingbird photography. Turns out the hummingbirds here are afraid of nothing. They constantly fly around our heads and attack each other to defend their sweet sweet sugar juice. Within about 20 seconds of setting up my camera, hummingbirds were flying right into frame, no problem.
Once they heard the shutter going off they got a bit curious. This guy cautiously perched on the side of the feeder opposite my camera and peered around to see what was going on.
As for the rest of the day, we definitely got our share of eating done, which I balanced out by walking a few miles with my people. I got a solid tan from playing bocci and corn hole. The pig was delicious too!
Tonight we all hung around the camp fire and visited. It's so hilarious listening to these people talk. I wish I could just record the conversations. Campfire chat is a gold mine! Tomorrow we have to head back home, but I'm really glad I got to come up here this weekend.
